Ashley Greene, Darker Succubus

Here is a darker version of my succubus. One that displays best all the many hours i contributed to the shading. If you look closely, you'll notice that all my pencilled shading is done with wrist shots. I freakin' HATE smudging!!! And of course followed by my own rant of twilight... the mmmeewwwvviiiee:

I never went to see Twilight at the theaters since i knew before hand that it's concept was geared towards teens. But i've been a "vampire lore" fan all my life and i've enjoyed and collected my fare share of vampire films. So naturally, curiosity eventually got the better of me.

One fine evening, my girlfriend brought back a dvd of twilight from one of her co-workers thinking we could watch it after supper. Since she had read the first two books and never got to see the film in theaters herself, she was an eager beaver. She didn't have to twist my arm that long since i didn't have to pay to see it.

Well from the moment it started, the more i tried to stay optimistic, the more it seemed to ram me in the stomach to make me puke out my organs. It was that bad. It had been a while since i had seen such a popular film that consisted of idiotic special effects, bad acting and possibly the worst directing i've ever seen. I figured that since every single actor on screen was equaly bad, it had to be because of the director "making" them act badly... it can't possibly be that big of a coincidence. Unless they hired a casting firm that consisted of chimps to cut on budget costs. No, it had to be the director since Robert Pattinson had been very decent as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the goblet of fire.

And how about the infamous "re-invented" to not say "brain-farted" vampire lore included in the film, huh??? Fangless Glittery Daywalking Baseball players ARE NOT ... VAMPIRES!!! Vampires are MEANT to be the most charismatic beasts in the horror realm in order for you to succomb to their will. They're not supposed to make you laugh and point, vomit or even less yell at the screen in outrage in front of this blasphemy. They're supposed to seem perfect in every way and that is also why they NEED their curse to never walk in daylight. Making them sparkle kinda tarnishes their concept, in my honest opinion.

But to each's own, after all that's what it all comes down to, opinions and personal tastes. For me, the film seemed to be spiralling down in a bottomless pit, dragging me in with it... until... until a certain Alice Cullen decided to grace us with her presence. Now that... THAT was a VAMPIRE!!! She had EVERYTHING, or so she seemed to when compared to those walking "lite-brights" she had for a family. She had a gothic hair cut, a piercing gaze, a sexy smile and charm that would have made yourself walk off a bridge. She had what this sorry representation of a folklore needed. I don't know where the director was when Ashley Greene got on screen but he obviously let one slip!!! She was absolutely breathtaking and to my surprise and delight, is slated to appear in all four films.

So here's my sketch of her, for all you fellow Alice Cullen/ Ashley Greene Nude fans. A big thank you to my ever loving girlfriend for finding me those unmentionnable pictures and letting me stare at them for all the long hours it took me to finish it. And she has also told me that Alice was written to be the "weird one" of the group in the books. Well here's a tip for the next director in line... make your vampires "weirder"!!!

As for what's next well... Charlize Theron as Domino, Matthew Fox as Flash (Barry Allen), Aisha Tyler as Storm and Michael Fassbender as Aquaman. Of course that could change depending on certain factors. And i won't put up any for a while. I've got some writing to do ;)
